Cafe Philo: Crossing the Divide

Jonathan Garfinkel journeys from a Zionist education in Canada to a quest for a true perspective on the Israel-Palestine imbroglio. He witnesses the reality of life on both sides of the divide and also explores Jewish identity. He will be talking to Emma Klein and reading from his evocative memoir, Ambivalence: Crossing the Isael Palestine Divide. There will then be an open discussion in which the audience is invited to take part.

Jonathan Garfinkel is a celebrated poet and playwright. He lives in Toronto, and is a graduate of the University of Toronto Masters in Creative Writing programme.

Emma Klein is a freelance writer and journalist. She is the author of Lost Jews, Emma Lazarus; Poet of the Jewish People and The Battle for Auschwitz. She also organises a Café Philo discussion forum in North West London.
