Avivah Gottlieb Zornberg was born in Glasgow, the descendant of a famous line of rabbis, who follows in their traditions of Torah scholarship. She has taught English Literature at the Hebrew University. The Murming Deep: Reflections on the Biblical Unconscious is her third book.
