Flash Fiction Writing Workshop

Flash fiction, micro fiction, short shorts: this is the short story distilled to its very essence, less than 1000 words in length and often much shorter. Come and explore this world of the tiny story, which was not, contrary to rumour, invented by the Internet generation, but has been on the scene for decades. And then write your own complete short-short story in a process that is as "flash" as the product!

Tania Hershman's prize-winning flash fiction has been widely published, and  a week of her short short stories was broadcast on Radio 4 in June 2010. Tania's first book,, The White Road and Other Stories, was commended, 2009 Orange Award for New Writers. Tania is currently writer-in-residence in the Science Faculty, Bristol University, working on a collection of biology-inspired short stories funded by an Arts Council England award.
