A Place to Call My Jewish Home

Memories of the Liberal Jewish Synagogue 1911-2011

An ode to the Liberal Jewish Synagogue on its centenary.

Part social history, part reminiscence Pam Fox’s well-researched book draws from lectures, personal letters, biographical and other archive materials and is filled with fascinating stories.  Interspersed with her findings Michael Grade, one of the synagogue’s most prominent members reads excerpts from the interviews of the last hundred years.

Pam Fox has a Phd in Social History and has written widely on leadership and equality issues. A Place to Call My Jewish Home is her most recent publication.

Michael Grade was the Chief Executive of Channel 4 and Chairman of the BBC and executive Chairman of ITV. He is currently Chairman of the Octopus Publishing Group, Pinewood Studios Ltd and the Royal National Theatre Development Council. He was awarded a CBE in 1998 and in 2011 was created a life peer as Baron Grade of Yarmouth. He is also a long-time member of the Liberal Jewish Synagogue.
