My Bible

Monday 1 March 2004 7.30pm

Tony Benn

Chair: Marion Cohen

In this session, Tony Benn, who was brought up on the Bible by his mother, a self-taught biblical scholar, spoke about the profound influence of Biblical teaching on his own thinking and its relevance for the contemporary human condition.

Tony Benn retired as an MP in 2001 ‘to devote more time to politics’. He is the author of The Benn Diaries.
