Women in Britain (2004), edited by Laura Phillips and Marion Baraitser, includes stories by prominent writers including
Lana Citron, Joan Michelson, Elizabeth Russell Taylor and Erica Wagner. They
focus on everyday concerns of the human heart — single motherhood,
intermarriage, eating and its problems, the dilemma of split identity — with a
bold variety of voices: comic, celebratory, compassionate and violent.
To celebrate the launch of Mordecai’s First Brush with
Love: New Stories by Jewish Women in Britain, actress Judith Paris read
selected extracts and the editors discussed the making of the book with author
Joan Michelson.
