The Jewish Book Council was established in 1947 to promote the
reading of books on all aspects of Jewish thought and culture. As
well as Jewish Book Week, the Council administers the TLS-Porjes
Prize for Hebrew-English Translation, a Primary Schools Poetry
Competition, and provides an extensive online archive of Jewish
writers from around the world.
