The Jewish Book Council
The Jewish Book Council was founded in 1948 by Dr George Webber to promote the reading of books on all aspects of Jewish thought and culture. As well as producing Jewish Book Week, which is the second oldest literary festival in the UK, we administer the Risa Domb-Porjes Prize for Hebrew-English Translation, run a poetry prize for children and organise other activities throughout the year. The online archive and this entire site are also major commitments.
