Lesson Plans

In the coming months we’ll be putting up lesson plans for Key Stages 1-3 on the website for different age groups which will be available for teachers to download and use with their classes.

Schools Day at Jewish Book Week

After the great success of last years School’s Day at Jewish Book Week we will be holding another during the upcoming festival, on Tuesday February 27th, 2007. During the School’s Day we invite classes to attend specially designed talks and workshops run by some of the writers who are appearing at the festival.

The day is titled ‘Jewish Dreams and Legends’ and features three award-winning international writers. The first session will feature JT Waldman, a Canadian graphic novelist whose session will trace the evolution of the graphic novel and will focus also on his own book which tells the Persian story of Purim. The second session features Israeli author, poet and playwright, Nava Semel who will talk about Jewish legends from her book Flying Lessons.  In the final session Ann Jungman will be talking about her brand new book The Prince Who Thought He Was a Rooster and other Jewish Stories which uncovers tales of Jewish myths and monsters from around  the world.

Come for the day, or for individual sessions (the festival is located within walking distance of the British Museum, and British Library, which can be combined for a full day’s outing) Classes will also be able to look round the bookfair, offering the UK’s largest selection of Jewish books and magazines from across the world and authors will be signing copies of their books on the day also.

The day is free but places are limited so classes will be included on first come first served basis.
